There is now a wide variety of locally produced natural soaps. They are made from animal or vegetable fats and are healthy for children’s skin.
You too can create your own natural soap. You will need 5 ingredients:
2/3 cup of coconut oil
2/3 cup of olive oil
2/3 cup of other vegetable oil (almond, grapeseed, sunflower, etc.)
1/4 cup of lye (100% sodium hydroxide)
3/4 cup of cool distilled water

Avoid the following chemicals in regular products
Ammonia: irritant and corrosive to the skin, eyes, and the respiratory and digestive tract
BHA/BHT: possible carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, BHA possibly toxic for reproduction
Dyes: possible carcinogens, skin sensitizers, photosensitizers and mutagens
Formaldehyde: carcinogen, irritant to eyes and respiratory tract, respiratory sensitizer
Glycol: irritant
